From Vincent to Theo

The Netherlands: 1882-88

"Though I am often in the depths of misery, there is still calmness, pure harmony and music inside me. I see paintings or drawings in the poorest cottages, in the dirtiest corners. And my mind is driven towards these things with an irresistible momentum."

Vincent van Gogh
Letter 218
21 July 1882

I apologize for this last drill down page. Easy website navigation can be a real challenge when the content is so vast. There are 235 separate documents in the Netherlands portion of the Letters section--far too many to list on one page. Therefore, in order to ensure that the pages load quickly, I've split up the Netherlands section into five sub-categories. This page marks the "deepest" that the user will ever have to drill down within the Vincent van Gogh Gallery.

Netherlands: The Hague (I) | The Hague (II)
Drenthe | Nuenen | Antwerp

Earliest | Paris | Arles | Saint-Rémy | Auvers-sur-Oise
